I found I have to do many and various things but I didn't know what I should do actually. (But of course I should have gone to university...) I was bewildered. My friends from high school looked enjoying their university life as acting in a circle and club, and drink with their friends in university. I didn't know why I felt lonely and like getting left. One day I had an occasion to drink with my friends that I made in my short university life , and their friends. They said "go and see New York City , that is No,1 city in the world, if you really want to be a No.1." At the last of the year, I went to New York City. I didn't go university and I saved money for going there by doing a lot of part time job. I went around art musiums and personal art exhibitions there. And I went to Blue Note (Jazz live house), too. I think maybe there was Helen Meril... And I went to the bar where blues is played, too. And China town, too. There is the greatest art musiuc for me there, I forgot the name, but it's maybe Metropolitan art musium. I could follow the change of art from the start of civilization to contenmporary art there. I came to know the beggining of art of Europe and the United States. Then I found Japanese current art came into Japan from Europe and the US suddenly. We Japanese throwed out all the Japanese traditional style inherited until Edo era, and accepted the culture of Europe and the US. And I found the next step and the new genre of Europe and the US in the field of art was to bring in Asian and African art. Art including music always changes into one step ahead. I thought I would be No.1 with Japanese traditional style when I came back to Japan. ![]()
